Rules for calculating volumetrics

1. Bartolini

The Italian carrier Bartolini applies volumetric weight conversion for deliveries from 3 kg real weight. The weight of each parcel from 3 kg onwards is converted using the formula in cm: width x length x height / 5000 = volumetric weight. According to the carrier's rules, the weight of the parcel that has the higher value is always invoiced.

2. GLS

GLS also applies a conversion to volumetric weight when delivering to Italy. In order to make delivery to Italy more convenient for you, the rules have been changed in the calculation of volumetric weight in your favour!

The old formula will continue to apply for parcels with a real and volumetric weight of up to 3 kg.

If the volumetric weight (calculated with the old formula) or the real weight of the parcel is higher than 3 kg, the volumetric weight will be recalculated using the new formula width x length x height / 5000 = volumetric weight.
